FAQs
Therapy gives you a safe, confidential space to talk openly. You can explore what’s going on, feel heard, and work through things at your own pace. It’s there to help you make sense of things and find a way forward that feels right for you.
We prefer to ask ‘Do you want therapy?’ rather than ‘need’ it. People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons—stress, anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, grief, or just feeling stuck or overwhelmed but you don’t ‘need’ a 'big reason' to come. We approach therapy proactively and on the front foot, you don’t need to be in a crisis to talk to a therapist. Actually, if you access therapy before a crisis, there may never be a crisis! If you want somewhere safe to talk, that’s reason enough and therapy might help.
Every session is a bit different because it’s all about you. Usually, you’ll talk about what’s been on your mind, and your therapist will help you explore it in a safe, non-judgmental way. It’s a safe space for you to slow down, reflect, and feel supported.
That’s completely normal. Your first session is a gentle introduction—no pressure, just a chance to talk, understand a bit about what to expect from therapy and get a feel for how things will work. You set the pace, this is time entirely for you.
Just yourself. There’s nothing you need to prepare. If there’s something you’d like to share (a journal entry, a note, a question), you’re welcome to bring it but if not, just yourself.
We offer individual therapy and depending on your needs, we draw on a mix of approaches; it’s always tailored to you. Our therapists all bring their own individuality, approaches and specialisms and they’re ready to help.
Simply put, they’re the very best therapists we could find. It’s a good question because therapy is not regulated in the UK so it’s not always easy to guarantee the credentials of the person you’re talking to. Not here, though. We’ve built a therapy dream team and all of our therapists are verified that they’re trained, qualified, and committed to working ethically and with care in line with the ethical guidelines of their Professional Body. Our therapists also align with our philosophy of what top-level care is, maintaining the highest standards. We’re also real people. Human beings who value honesty, empathy and connection and are here to help. You can read more about each therapist on our Therapists page.
Yes. Your sessions take place online, so you can join from home or another private space that suits you. We recommend a quiet place with a reliable connection, so you can talk freely and without distraction.
You can book directly on our website. Just choose an available time on your therapist’s booking page. Each therapist manages their own availability, so you can pick a time that works for you.
No, you don’t need a referral. If you want therapy, that’s enough to get started.
Each session is 50 minutes long—just under an hour to give ample time to settle in and wind down gently whilst not so long that it’s exhausting! We recommend saving some time after your session to gently re-enter your world safely.
Absolutely. You have two options to choose your therapist. You can browse our therapists and book directly with someone that feels right, or you can take our short Therapist Matching survey and receive our recommendations direct to your inbox, make your choice and book your session.
We kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Missed sessions or sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged at the full rate. This respects our therapists’ time and availability.
Yes, for the most part. Your therapist will explain confidentiality and its limits clearly when you discuss your contract. If you ever have questions, you can ask them directly and they’ll talk you through it.
That’s okay— our therapists are amazing but sometimes human beings just don’t quite connect and that’s totally fine. You can always talk to your therapist about how you’re feeling and navigate it together, or you can switch therapists at any time. If you need assistance, you can contact us directly and we will support you in your next steps. It’s important that your therapy feels right for you.
If you have any questions not listed here, please feel free to contact us directly and we’ll be happy to help.
